The department of Prosthodontics is involved in
the restoration and replacement of lost natural teeth. The department
is also involved in the reconstruction of jaws and the associated
facial structures that are congenitally absent or lost due to disease,
injury, using a multidisciplinary approach.
Students are well trained in all clinical and laboratory related to Prosthodontics.
At the end of their training period they are fully competent in all the clinical and laboratory procedures involved in the fabrication of complete and partial dentures. They are also exposed to a variety of Prosthodontics cases that require an interdisciplinary approach to treatment planning such as implant supported prostheses, Maxillofacial prostheses etc. The department also has a fully equipped preclinical lab, clinical lab, casting and ceramic lab to train students in all laboratory procedures.
